Berluti presentation at Palais Royal

On june 29,  Berluti Mensware spring/summer 2013 show  was presented at the  magnificent  Jardin du Palais royal, during  the  Paris men’s fashion week. See the photos taken by Lambert Paris office.

Luxury group LVMH pulled out all the stops for a striking tableaux vivant presentation for Berluti, a brand that is making a big push into ready-to-wear from its bespoke shoes roots.

The evening continued with an intimate dinner in the exceptional gardens, privatized for the first time in the history of Palais royal. Many personalities were present: Diane Kruger, Joshua Jackson, Dita Von Teese or Jefferson Hack.

Berluti, previously known for high end luxury shoes, has embarked on a major transformation in 2009, when Antoine Arnault, the son of Bernard Arnault (owner of giant LVMH) took over as CEO.  The luxury giant  has just acquired Arnys-a French men’s wear purveyor last month, plans  to use its  made-to-measure expertise to launch Berluti into that business; a flagship for Berluti is scheduled to open by the end of 2013, fourteen tailors will be employed permanently on site at the new flagship of Berluti.

Raf Simons makes his Dior debut at Paris Haute couture

In his first show since taking over as head designer at Christian Dior, Raf Simons went for dramatic ballgowns, dark suits and the odd nod to classic Dior of the late 1940s with a collection that finally closed the John Galliano era for good. In this brightly hued color palette for next Autumn/Winter, the newly appointed Belgian designer has some definite possibilities including a luscious cobalt blue strapless gown with a flared A-line skirt, close to the ankles, accessorized with retro-style pointed pumps.

The same A-line shape is featured in other strapless gowns in red and pink and long-sleeve gowns with plunging V-necklines.

Guests included Anna WintourAnna Dello RussoCarine RoitfeldAlber ElbazMarc JacobsMarion CotillardNatalia VodianovaPrincess CharleneSharon Stone, and Jennifer Lawrence. A private residence on the Avenue d’Iena in Paris was transformed into a luxurious garden with five rooms covered wall-to-wall in brightly colored flowers.
