Supermodels Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and More Take Gold at the Olympics Closing Ceremonies

[dropcap]S[/dropcap]o, can you guess what our favorite part of last night’s Olympics closing ceremonies were? While there ended up being plenty of fashion-related topics to discuss from the actual games, nothing compared to this. Aside from that epic Spice Girls reunion (more on that later), we pretty much died when Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Stella Tennant, Karen Elson and other Brit models appeared on floats in show-stopping custom ensembles, in what may have been the most sense-making part of the whole event.

London‘s successfully made itself into a fashion capital over the last few decades, and that’s perhaps never been made more clear than it was last night with some of the city’s strongest contributions to the fashion business–models and designers alike.

Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, the obvious stars of the show, wore gilded Alexander McQueen. The gold theme continued with Stella Tennant in Christopher Kane, Georgia May Jagger in Victoria Beckham, Lily Donaldson in Vivienne Westwood, Lily Cole in Erdem, David Gandy in Paul Smith, Jourdan Dunn in Jonathan Saunders and Stephen Jones headpiece and Karen Elson in Burberry.

There were no weird backup dancers or inexplicable singing children, just 9 supermodels shutting. it. down. And it looks like Rio de Janeiro, the home of the 2016 Olympics, may take a cue from the Brits and involve their own legendary supermodels in their future celebrations. Alessandra Ambrosio was front and center during the Brazil portion of last night’s event .

Video: Lady Gaga x VOGUE

[dropcap]V[/dropcap]ogue’s September cover featuring Lady Gaga has been making headlines all week, and now we have behind the scenes video of the shoot. Styled by Grace Coddington and photographed by MERT & MARCUS while wearing a Marc Jacob’s dress, the whole shoot is Vogue at its finest.

The minute and a half clip takes you from the beginning to end of the shoot, and of course with Lady Gaga as the star, it’s completely entertaining. From her dramatic facial expressions to the oversized hair and fluffy Marc Jacobs hats, it suits her glamorous persona perfectly. Plus, the background tune of her own song ‘Hair’ is a pretty good match too.

Carine Roitfeld CR Fashion Book – First Images

[dropcap]W[/dropcap]e are all waiting for the debut issue of Carine Roitfeld’s new magazine, CR Fashion Book. Today, we spotted the second preview image which shows a woman in black, holding a doll swaddled in white. This picture is as rich in contrast as the first one where we saw model Juliet Ingleby only veiled in a pink drapery walking though a cemetery followed by three other models, all dressed in black leather suits.

The first issue of CR Fashion Book is available for preorder now and will be available in bookstores and newsstands on September 13.
