Today, the U.K brand known for its menswear, Thomas Pink, has revealed a new women’s wear collection in New York, which will be sold in stores in late August.
Former Gap designer and newly appointed creative director of Armani Exchange, Patrick Robinson, announced his new urban sportswear line, PASKHO through a Kickstarter account. The designer is using the account to raise $50,000 to fund the collection. Robinson is thanking his donators with gifts such as autographed sketches and clothing from the collection, and is even awarding his highest paying donators with a private dinner with him and a complete outfit from the collection.
Robinson thought of the idea through a conversation with his son, where he discovered that he had “stopped designing clothes and had instead become the guy who manages the people who design the clothes.” He wanted to go back to his passion for designing clothes, leading him to PASKHO, which is ancient Greek for passion.
The collection is geared towards lounge, active wear, and urban clothing. Robinson uses his skill of stitching and fitting to deliver meticulously crafted garments such as tunic, henleys, and warrior trousers.

The New York based lingerie brand, Journelle has big plans for retail expansion in the U.S. market. In addition to the lingerie chain’s current free standing stores in SoHo, Union Square and the Upper East Side, two new stores will open this year in the metropolitan area and four more units will be added in 2014.
“The goal is to have a specialty chain across the U.S” said Claire Chambers, founder and chief executive officer of Journelle.
This past January, Triumph International, Munich-based mega innerwear company worth $2.1 billion, acquired a majority stake in Journelle with expanding through the Americas in mind. This acquisition gave Journelle the cash infusion needed to expand the chain, and they plan to use the capital to grow their e-commerce website as well as their brick-and-mortar stores. Chambers sees this as the next level for Journelle as sales growth online for them has been over 100 percent each year, and expects “to triple the size of online business by the end of 2014.”

Barneys New York will be rebranding two of its largest Co-op units in preparation to transform its entire Co-op fleet across the country.
In efforts to create a more cohesive company the co-op stores at 2151 Broadway in New York City and The Grove in Los Angeles will be remodeled and rebranded as Barneys New York beginning this summer. This will start a trend for the rest of the Barney’s co-op stores. The final plan is to be one store: Barneys New York, no co-ops included.
This is all due to the fact that the line between contemporary and designer is continuing to blur. The Barneys’ shopper and the co-op shopper are becoming one. As this continues to happen, the company must change and adopt in response to the customer.
An important note – the previous co-op, turned Barneys New York stores on Broadway and in The Grove will stay open throughout the complete three-stage remodel.
Happy Shopping!
