Humberto Leon and Carol Lim chose to show their men’s Spring collection at their store in London. A sporty vibe mixed with a multitude of materials and cool ideas such as using materials like a latex-coated cotton or a spongy technical that gave pieces like a natty gray coat a futuristic feel. Thomas Tait is the winner of LVMH Prize

Thomas Tait has been named winner of the inaugural LVMH Young Fashion Designer Prize. He won 300,000 euros and a year of coaching. The final took place at the headquarters of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton in the presence of a prestigious jury comprising Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Jacobs, Nicolas Ghesquière, Raf Simons, Phoebe Philo and Riccardo Tisci, along with Kenzo’s creative duo Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, sat on the jury with Delphine Arnault, who spearheaded the prize initiative, along with LVMH executives Pierre-Yves Roussel and Jean-Paul Claverie.

Miuniku by sisters Nikita and Tina Sutradhar and Shayne Oliver Hood by Air won the special prizes.

Boston-based private equity firm Berkshire Partners has recently taken a minority stake in Opening Ceremony with plans to implementing a major growth strategy. The goal of this investment is to enhance e-commerce, develop the brand women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, accessories collections and in the meantime, accelerate retail expansion with new locations for the multibrand plateform, as well as new stores devoted to the Opening Ceremony’s brand.

Carol Lim and Humberto Leon first Kenzo Kids’ collection

The Zannier group – long term licensing partner for Kenzo children’s wear – is launching a new line for Spring-Summer 2013, on top of its existing collection created by Zannier’s internal design studio. The new children’s collection will come straight from Carol Lim and Humberto Leon at Kenzo’s design studio under the name ‘Kenzo By’.
