Saint Laurent’s new flagship opens up at Avenue Montaigne

The world’s largest Saint Laurent’s boutique merchandise by Hedi Slimane has landed on Avenue Montaigne in Paris. We recognize the Hedi Slimane’s touch with a minimalist boutique composed mainly of marble, metal and mirrors.

“The store concept is an essential ingredient of the reformation by Mr. Slimane and the new strategic direction of the house,” Paul Deneve, president and chief executive officer of Yves Saint Laurent, told WWD.

The boutique offering a wide range of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear products and accessories that helped Saint Laurent report a 16.9 percent revenue gain in the first quarter.

Chanel N°5 exhibition at Palais de Tokyo

Galeries Lafayette to buy Printemps ?

GLafayette_V_4June09_rex_bFrench department store Galeries Lafayette could be preparing to buy out rival retailer Printemps, according to reports this morning. The two fashion giants both have huge flagship stores in Paris.

According to French business magazine Challenges, the company would spend approximately €1.6 billion, on the buyout.

The speculation has been denied from Printemps’ owner, the Borletti Group – with a spokesperson stating: “Borletti Group has no intention to sell.” No comment has yet been made from Galeries Lafayette, which for 2011 announced annual revenues of 2.9 billion euros (£2.36 billion).

The french duo Lefranc Ferrant, Jordanian-born, Canada-based designer Rad Hourani, Hervé Leroux, the designer formerly known as Hervé Léger and Zuhair Murad, Lebanese designer. Those houses will be scheduled on the last day of couture week.
