In addition to her impressive roles as editor in chief of Vogue and editorial director of Teen Vogue, Anna Wintour has just added artistic director of Condé Nast to her resume. This role has never been in existence, was created just for Anna.

One of the most well known faces of fashion, Andre Leon Talley, is leaving Vogue in favor of full time focus on his late-night talk show where he will supposedly bring in his colleagues and fashionable friends as guests.
He will still be contributing to Vogue, as his name still appears on the magazine’s masthead as contributing editor.

Nadja Bender covers Numero magazine’s February 2013 issue, in a shot by Sebastian Kim
The black & white graphic patterns and prints seems to be one of the main spring 2013 trend. Since the begin of the year, a several magazines’ covers highlights this trend.
Elin Kling, a Swedish blogger, created a capsule collection with Marciano that will début November 1st in stores. While Kling and Marciano have very different styles aesthetically, the blending of the two styles created a collection full of “European effortless plus Guess’s all-American sexiness” including easy to wear separates for a lifestyle in a urban environment.
The capsule collection includes pieces such as oversized and chunky sweaters, skinny pants with interesting textures, relaxed tees and tank tops, and a reinvented version of the black Lycra bustier famous in the 80’s.
Vogue celebrated the collaboration and launch of the capsule collection by doing a photo-shoot of Kling herself mixing her new capsule collection designs from Marciano with pieces she already had in her closet creating a personalized look into the bloggers European street style.
PS DEPT, short for personal shopper department, creates a new type of retail experience that intertwines the mobile platform with personal touches of client relationships. The app for the iPhone, designed by Michelle Goad, is simple and straightforward to use. The user messages what they are looking for which can include an image of what they are looking to find, and is sent through the app. The message arrives to available associates at different stores in New York City and once they have received your request they go through the inventory in the store and share photos of pieces they have found for you.
Elana Zajdman, writer for Vogue, tested the app out and was pleasantly surprised by how well the app worked since it was just released this past weekend. She tested out two different styles she wanted to try, lace up booties and prints. After messaging photos of both trends she wanted to try, she was almost immediately responded back to by several different sales associates from around New York City. There are different icons to choose from once you are sent the photos from the stores including the “try” icon, which you can then set up a appointment to come in and experience the clothes, and the “buy” icon which you can then purchase the items over the phone. Zajdman ended up being sold on the app after a day of use and it seems that many will follow with the same feeling.

[dropcap]V[/dropcap]ogue’s September cover featuring Lady Gaga has been making headlines all week, and now we have behind the scenes video of the shoot. Styled by Grace Coddington and photographed by MERT & MARCUS while wearing a Marc Jacob’s dress, the whole shoot is Vogue at its finest.
The minute and a half clip takes you from the beginning to end of the shoot, and of course with Lady Gaga as the star, it’s completely entertaining. From her dramatic facial expressions to the oversized hair and fluffy Marc Jacobs hats, it suits her glamorous persona perfectly. Plus, the background tune of her own song ‘Hair’ is a pretty good match too.
[dropcap]B[/dropcap]y the time she was 18, Lindsey Wixson’s striking face had already fronted campaigns for a large numbers of high fashion brands. In an editorial for Vogue UK she looks more radiant and natural than ever. Shot by Terry Richardson, the New York-inspired spread shows some of the upcoming trends for Autumn: houndstooth, lumberjack plaids and tweed, styled with a country manor feel. Love her eye-catching big smile, which managed to boost my less-than-thrilled Monday mood. Definitely wanted to share this with you!
According to a spokesperson, this September’s Lady Gaga-covered Vogue will have 658 ad pages, which marks a nearly 14% growth from last year–that’s double digit growth on top of double digit growth for the last two years. Teen Vogue‘s September issue will be its largest issue ever (the previous record was held by September’s 2006 Mischa Barton-covered issue, which rang in at 370 pages). Guess those rumors about Condé Nast’s ad pages being down were off the mark… for the most part.
Glamour is reporting ad pages are off by 35, which it accounts to the loss of the food/pharma ad category. The mag is up 10% in luxury business and is up in ad pages for October and November.
To mark Vogue’s record-breaking September issue, the mag is launching a Facebook contest on its page on Friday, asking readers to guess the page count. 100 readers who guess closest to the actual number, to be revealed on Saturday, will win Vogue’s new Editor’s Eyebook (not due out until September) autographed by Vogue editors.
